Death Valley Bonus Gallery

So much scenery, so many photo ops.

Some of you have experienced Death Valley behind the bars or steering wheel, so you know what natural beauty lies east of the Bay Area. Not wanting to get too bogged down with gadgetry but wanting better access to my smartphone for photos and videos, I installed a SP Connect mount on my Moto Guzzi Quota’s Pro Taper EVO 7/8” handlebars with the Henry/Reed bend to save time reaching into my jacket pocket.

Using my year-old iPhone 13, I tried my best to capture the majesty in Portrait Mode, which gives a certain professional background blur to focus on the machines or people. Substack — the app that I use to create this newsletter — doesn’t allow me to upload videos yet, which is a shame because riding pal Brian and I certainly captured some Kodak moments, which you can see here.
